If you are expecting an action packed jumping through time, rock 'em sock 'em movie, this is not it. I'm sure a number of people will enjoy it, but a significant number will recognize that like the depicted archer, the arrow fails to even leave the bow, much less hit the target. But it is a great standalone film. Time Traveller: The Girl Who Leapt Through Time, originally released as Toki o Kakeru Shōjo (時をかける少女, lit. I think the one thing lacking from the other reviews about this movie is to say that the plot of this movie has nothing to do with the anime. Starring Mayumi Asano. I haven't watched much Japanese live action cinema, so maybe that's where I went wrong, but I just couldn't connect with the over-the-top characters much.
Glad I did as I really enjoyed the film I would recommend it If only the conclusion could have taken the ball and run with it, we could have had a masterpiece.
