The character possesses no self-awareness, with much of the humor built around how he thinks himself to be suave and sophisticated when, in reality, he’s repelling everyone around him with his unintentional racism and sexism. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon.
Give it a try, but know that there's no guarantee that you'll like it, only that you'll likely appreciate a different perspective on what passes for humor.

the cigarette smoke wafting upwards while in a 'speeding convertible' (chuckle), playing with the light switch in the chicken house (silly repeated gag), the camera panning away from the start of a romantic scene only go too far and catch the couple in a mirror and retracting abruptly (LOL)... it all made me laugh at the silliness... but I have to say it unexpectedly bordered on stupid at times. The voice on the other end of the line grows increasing agitated by these calls and eventually shows up and beats the informant to death.Another favorite moment concerns OSS 117’s cover role in Cairo as a chicken wholesaler.
Eight tourists who met in a holiday camp on the Ivory Coast are reunited for a skiing holiday. I highly recommend this. Just the title is terrific and promises a satire: Cairo, Nest of spies.

OSS 117 is clueless about important things of the case he's been tasked to resolve in Cairo, but believes the Egyptians foresaw and built the Suez Canal four thousand years ago/ He also grasps amazingly quickly a new language or deciphers a hieroglyph or plays a foreign instrument or dances the mambo.

But please don’t take anything seriously, it’s meant to be a parody, irreverent and silly. Games, competitions, outings, bathing and sunburn accompany a continual succession of casual affairs. The exotic settings (1945 Germany and then 1955 Cairo), and cheerful performances by the entire cast make this a movie I know I'll watch over and over. Laurent Brett (2005).
