January 18, 2020 The film has a strong cast and a star creating performance by Zac Efron. | Rating: B | Adapted from the nonfiction memoir by Elizabeth Kendall (aka Liz Kloepfer) Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile recounts how she was manipulated for years by a seemingly adoring boyfriend, yet future death row inmate, Ted Bundy. Overall, this film didn't do much for me, but the story itself and the central performance have me giving it a passing grade. Zac Efron gives his all and then some as serial killer Ted Bundy, but in trying to show the kinder, gentler side of Bundy that fooled nearly everyone, the movie gets tangled up in tonal shifts and missed opportunities.

February 6, 2020 July 23, 2020 Videos Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile. Elizabeth Kloepfer refused for years to acknowledge that her boyfriend was a serial killer. This could have been a stronger film had it stayed to the facts and allowed the viewer to make up their own mind.
Efron not only bears a striking resemblance to Bundy... but deftly captures the off-kilter nature of his demeanor... That doesn't elevate the material, necessarily, as much as it does add to the queasiness watching it. Efron has a ball: he's likeable, goofy and manic, except when flashing his eyes when he looks like that boy from The Village of the Damned.
